Days 14-15: Missoula, MT

In Missoula we visited cousins and their families. There were a total of nine of us. We had a blast floating the Clark Fork River in town, an afternoon at Salmon Lake cooking out and paddling kayaks and visiting breweries for food and beer. Missoula is a great college town (small city actually) at the base of the mountains. The University of Montana is there.

Here we also had our first encounter with motels at Manhattan prices. I guess because of the demand for post pandemic domestic travelers, the prices are pushed up. And those travelers are indeed out there. And those motels are booked up at those prices. We saw many many families and groups out this way. Our Holiday Inn on the river in downtown Missoula was great.

The University of Montana’s teams are the “Grizzlies”. The town has a college town feel.

If we come by flowers, like these wild daisies, we will brighten up the car with them. Since we stayed 3 nights in Missoula they made it to the room and lasted the entire time.
