Monroe, LA to Home - Day 19 (of 19)

Today we made the last push home. I'd driven in on US 59 several times recently, and in the spirit of the road trip, I wanted to take a different route, so we went from Monroe, LA through Alexandria to I-10 on US 165 and then I-10 into Houston. We ended up driving 4,589 miles. It was a great exploration for us, and very much a sampler. We could have enjoyed staying longer at most every place we went but at least we now know a bunch of great places to go back to. Great, cool weather for two weeks was a real plus too. We accomplished our mission of seeing what was going on in Michigan and Wisconsin and had lots of fun doing it.  Thanks for following along with us!

Road south in central Louisiana.

Gas was about 50 cents per gallon higher in Michigan & Wisconsin.

This is a purple hull pea sheller. The lady said shelling that bowl took about 3 minutes.

There was no doubt, we were back in the south.

 THE END!
